Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
How do we do a face to face on the computer/phone/tablet?
A:
I use a platform called Doxy.me to facilitate our virtual, confidential sessions. Just like Zoom, FaceTime, or other video-chat platform, the camera and audio on your computer or mobile device will enable us to see and hear each other. You can find out more about Doxy.Me, including a short informational video, by visiting their website Doxy.me
Q:
What is a sliding scale?
A:
A sliding scale is a reduced rate offered to clients when there is a financial need so that therapy is more affordable. Eligibility is on a case to case basis but prices typically range from $40-$55 per session. I will be happy to discuss more in detail during your consultation.
Q:
What is your cancellation policy?
A:
There is no charge if you cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. You will be charged $50 if less than 24 hours’ notice is given.
Q:
Can I just do telehealth? What if we are not in the same state?
A:
Absolutely. I can see anyone in the States where I am licensed. I am licensed in the states of Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Texas, and Vermont
Q:
I’ve been dissatisfied with other therapists in the past. What is going to make this experience any different?
A:
Many clients have been to therapy in the past. Not every experience is ‘great’ which unfortunately creates a bias about therapy in general. More often times than not, a major reason therapy doesn’t quiet work is due to the lack of relationship and trust between therapist and client. This is a huge reason I offer free consultations. This consultation is presented in a relaxed, and stress-free environment. We can openly ask each other questions, and the hope is we both feel strongly and confident that we will be able to connect and build a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship.
